Women’s Leadership Network Scholarship Application Form

The PLUS Foundation’s Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) began in 2009. In the past ten years we have been successful in creating opportunities to network and learn from the experience of women who are leaders by virtue of their achievements, and in raising corporate awareness of the value of developing and diversifying leadership. Skill, knowledge, sponsorship and confidence are needed to realize your leadership potential. PLUS Foundation Women’s Leadership Network is proud to offer the PLUS Foundation Women’s Leadership Scholarship for women who are ready to invest in their careers in order to enhance their contribution in the workplace and obtain positions of greater responsibility The PLUS Foundation seeks to advance the careers of program participants, help PLUS develop leaders and enhance the effectiveness of the broader professional liability community.

PARTICIPANT COMMITMENT GOALS AND BENEFITS
Via the resources and services of the PLUS Foundation Board of Directors, the WLN Scholarship is designed to:

Connect participants with a mentor to enhance their career development and expand their professional networks
Encourage participants to assume leadership roles in PLUS and the professional liability insurance industry
Develop a more diverse leadership pool for the professional liability insurance industry
Demonstrate the long-term benefit of the scholarship program to participants, PLUS, and the larger professional liability insurance profession

ELIGIBILITY
To apply for the scholarship candidates must be:

Currently employed in the professional liability insurance industry with a minimum of two years of experience
A member of PLUS
Identify as female

In order for recipients to be successful and for the WLN Scholarship to achieve its goals, each participant must:

Formulate a 1 year leadership development plan with the PLUS Foundation Executive Director
Assist PLUS Foundation in identifying your mentor and be actively engaged with the selected mentor
Actively participate in your chosen leadership training and volunteer opportunities
Attend networking opportunities at PLUS and Foundation events
Provide brief written reports following your chosen leadership training events and/or biannually to share your progress and observations
Submit program related materials as requested
Serve as an ambassador for WLN, PLUS Foundation and PLUS to your employer, colleagues and community

APPLICATION
The application window for the 2025 PLUS Foundation WLN Scholarship will be open on Friday, July 14, 2025, with all application
materials due by Friday, August 29, 2025 at 5:00 pm EDT. The application and supporting documents must contain all requested
information submitted via the form below and be received by the deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Application materials include:

A complete and signed application form.
Letter of Recommendation by applicant’s supervisor or employer – no specific format, although recommending party is
strongly encouraged to write about how they know the applicant and why they think the applicant is a great candidate for
the program.
Current Resume.
Personal Essay – 700 words or fewer to include: a brief statement about your background, your service and leadership
experiences, future ambitions and how you feel this opportunity will enhance your capabilities.
An outline of the general details about the educational program(s) you intend to pursue if you receive the scholarship. Be as
specific as possible about the program/conference/training/class or other opportunities you would like to attend – ex. who
provides the training, approximate fees and travel costs (flight & hotel), duration of the program, why you feel that content
is of particular value. We understand that offerings, pricing and other details may change over time. PLUS Foundation will
work with scholarship recipients on final details following the awards.
