2025 Excellence in Diversity Award

This prestigious award is provided annually to a member of the Professional Liability Insurance Industry who supports the mission of the PLUS Foundation through their actions to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and allyship in the industry.

Eligibility – To be eligible for this award nominees must meet all of the following:

• Employed in the insurance or professional liability industry or a company or industry that supports insurance or professional liability insurance
• A member of a traditionally underrepresented group within the professional liability insurance industry or an ally for traditionally underrepresented groups
• Self-nominations not accepted; PLUS membership is not required

Criteria – Activities within PLUS or the PLUS Foundation, the company for whom they work, or in support of the insurance industry may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Evaluation will be based on impact (e.g., sphere of influence, scope of initiative)
• Focusing on the importance and the benefits of advancing diversity, equality and promoting a culture of inclusion
• Raising and deepening awareness of equality and diversity issues
• Strong personal and professional reputation within the industry for character, integrity, and professionalism
• Supporting mentoring opportunities
• Supporting inclusive and/or diversity related educational/professional development/and service opportunities
• Supporting creative and inclusive work policies that support the needs of a diverse staff
• Fostering an environment that celebrates differences
• Advocating for and/or recruiting and developing tomorrow’s workforce with a particular focus on under-represented group
• Acting as a thought leader to drive continuous improvement within organization(s)
• Supporting a diverse leadership team
• Encouraging organizations to support diversity causes
• Committed to community service
