Bonnie Boone is Recognized in 2022

Each year the PLUS Foundation recognizes a member of the insurance industry for their actions to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the industry.

This year’s award is presented to Bonnita (Bonnie) Boone, one of the few women of color who have risen in the ranks of major brokers, while producing major business partnerships and customer relationships. Throughout her 38-year career, Boone has used her position and influence to establish support networks and business practices that support women and people of color.

Boone was named one of Savoy magazine’s Most Influential Women in Corporate America and received the NAAIA Lifetime Achievement Award. She serves on the boards of the Association for Healthcare Risk Management of New York and the Women to Watch Foundation.

“We are so pleased to present this award to Bonnie Boone. She has not only broken barriers in her professional ascent but, as a mentor and volunteer, has worked to open doors that have allowed many others to follow,” said Glenda Swan, Executive Director of the PLUS Foundation.

Her expertise includes large physician groups, healthcare organizations, hospitals, MCO, large academic medical centers/ universities, bio technology firms, and financial institutions. Her expertise extends to reinsurance facultative and treaty. Her focus is on captives, cash flow-loss sensitive programs, and coverage analysis in these areas. Prior to 2017, Bonnie was with Marsh New York as a Senior Vice President for her second tenure both times in New York City. She sat on the national executive committee for its healthcare practice. She also held a national position with Willis for more than a decade and worked with 280 retail offices on a global basis to produce business, market, and set strategy for the healthcare industry and casualty business.
